Overview.Responsibilities
ResponsibilitiesThrough appearance, communication and attitude. Serves as an advocate forpatients/families. Evaluates own professional practice using goals established forprofessional development. Takes responsibility for reading and understanding postedmemos, minutes and communications. Attends a minimum of 5 hospital-wideinservice per year. Attends a minimum of 8 nursing service meetings per year.Maintains CPR, ACLS, PALS, TNCC certification. Clocks in and out on a regular basis.Provides leadership to appropriate staff. (Justice)Assumes accountability for one'sown nursing practice. Understands the profession of nursing and its issues and canrepresent the profession to others. Is a good role model. Demonstrates the ability toassume leadership role in emergency/crisis situations. Participates in unit decisionmaking. Serves on hospital committees as requested Recognizes and reports unitproblems and issues using appropriate established lines of authority. Delegatesspecific tasks to assisting personnel. Supervises, teaches and evaluates theperformance of assisting personnel. Responds to our guests, clients, and co-workers'physical and emotional/spiritual needs in a manner which is respectful, caringcompassionate, and nonjudgmental. Unit standards, patient/family immediate needs. Documents patientteaching in the nursing notes.Uses effective communication principles and skills to achieve desired outcomes(dignity)Utilizes basic verbal and nonverbal and written communication skills. Obtainssupplies, equipment and services necessary for patient care. Reports accurate patientcare information through nurse/nurse communication, and nurse other health careworker interactions. Works at establishing and maintaining good rapport/cooperativeworking relationships with co-workers and other hospital staff. Approaches conflict in aconstructive manner.Participates in unit QA activities. (Stewardship)Participation in unit QA activities bycollecting data and/or providing information. Reports QA to nurse manager on aregular basis. Identifies quality assurance issues on the unit. Participates in qualityassurance research projects/studies, implements findings as directed, and assists inidentifying ways to resolve variances or unacceptable outcomes. Works with team toimprove Quality issues.Plans and delivers quality patient care utilizing the nursing process and withinappropriate resources. (Service)Utilizes basic assessment and interviewing skills.Differentiates between normal and abnormal. Observes findings on an on-going basis.Utilizes available resources (staff and materials). Identifies patient/family learningneeds. Identifies patient/family discharge needs. Establishes rapport with the patientand family. Identifies patient's actual problems according to acceptable nursingdiagnosis terminology, and formulates a nursing focus validated with patient/family.Initiates, individualizes, reviews, revises and communicates plan of care.Demonstrates responsibility for following through with plan of care. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
